Dental Implants
Our team is proud to provide dental implants to the community here in Sunnyside, Clackamas, OR. In addition to single implant crowns, we also provide All on 4 implant supported dentures.
Why Implants?
Dental implants mimic the natural teeth from the crown to the roots. They have the most natural appearance, can last a lifetime, and are the most functional tooth replacement option. In addition, implants are much easier to maintain than other restorations. Simply brush and floss just like always. Lastly, dental implants stimulate bone growth just like natural tooth roots. This prevents the sunken, sagging appearance that comes with tooth loss over time.
Over the lifetime of dental implants, they prove to be the smarter investment. The mouth changes over time, and dentures and bridges become uncomfortable. They must be refitted, and sometimes replaced. Dental implants can last a lifetime with proper care, and require no more dental visits or maintenance than natural teeth. Implants are a wise investment into long term oral health.
Bone Grafting
When teeth are lost, the tooth roots no longer stimulate bone growth in the jaw, and bone density is lost over time. In this case, a bone grafting procedure is used to restimulate bone growth in the jaw to prepare for dental implant placement.
Tooth Extractions
Natural teeth may become severely decayed, fractured beyond repair, impacted, or suffer severe periodontal bone loss, and require extraction because they are no longer functional. When the natural tooth cannot be saved through other dental procedures, extraction is necessary.
Wisdom Teeth Removal
The wisdom teeth are also called the third molars. These are the final teeth to erupt at around the age of 18. However, many patients do not have room in their mouths for third molars, and experience impacted wisdom teeth where they are unable to erupt from the gums. This can cause pain and infection, and a need to have them surgically removed.
Dental Coronectomy
The coronectomy was developed as a procedure to safely remove wisdom teeth with less risk of damage to the nerve within the jaw.
Full Mouth Reconstruction
A full mouth reconstruction restores the form and function of a patient's entire smile. This collection of procedures may be necessary for multiple decayed or missing teeth, or for ongoing severe periodontitis.
Oral Pathology
Oral cancer screenings are crucial to early detection, and successful treatment. When oral cancer has been diagnosed, other oral health issues such as decay or periodontal disease may need to be treated prior to radiotherapy to avoid osteonecrosis, where the jaw can no longer repair itself.
We are happy to answer the questions of our patients in Sunnyside, Clackamas, OR and Southgate.

How Long Do Dental Implants Last?
With proper care, implants can last a lifetime, though the crowns typically need to be replaced after 10 to 15 years.
What is an Oral Surgeon?
An oral surgeon is also known as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. We are dental specialists who focus on diagnosing and treating diseases, injuries, and defects in the head, neck, face, jaw, and hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial region.
What's the Difference Between a Dentist and an Oral Surgeon?
Both are dental professionals, but oral surgeons complete additional years of surgical and anesthesia training after dental school. We are qualified to perform more complex procedures.
What Can I Expect From My First Visit?
A first visit to our practice usually starts with a review of your medical history. Then we perform a thorough examination. Diagnostic imaging such as X-rays may be taken.
