Types of Periodontal Services to Ask Us AboutDo you want to know more about periodontal care? Do you need to have your gums reshaped or wish to learn more about periodontal cleaning, such as scaling and root planing? If so, we can answer your questions. You just need to know what services to ask about. The following information covers the main periodontal services offered.

Periodontal Services and their Benefits

According to the American Academy of Periodontology, periodontal services are wide and varied, each meant to be tailored to a patient's specific periodontal treatment and care. The periodontal services we offer are meant to assist in gum repair and the preservation of the natural teeth. We also perform implant surgery to fill in gaps where teeth have been lost. If you wish to treat gum disease, ask about non-surgical treatments, such as deep cleaning or root scaling and planing. We also offer regenerative treatments, such as gum graft surgery, which restores the bone lost to advanced gum disease. Laser treatments are performed to treat gum disease and pocket reduction procedures are recommended if gum pocket depths become too deep to adequately clean. Another service, dental crown lengthening, is primarily cosmetic in nature, and takes care of a “gummy” smile.

How to Determine What Periodontal Service You Need

To determine how you can benefit from periodontal services, you need to book a consultation for an exam and consultation. During the exam, we will usually use a periodontal probe to check the pocket depth of your gums. This is done to get an accurate diagnosis of you gum health. Once we have this information, we can suggest a treatment plan. If you are familiar with the above-mentioned services, you can make further inquiries about their benefits. Many of our patients also about implant services after we have treated their gum disease. Whatever your primary periodontal concern, we can address it and make the appropriate recommendation.

Call us today for a periodontal exam and/or root scaling and planing. To maintain the health of your teeth, you also need to preserve your gum health. Call us today to book an appointment and consultation.
