What Are Immediate Dental Implants?

Immediate dental implants are placed at the time of tooth extraction. This approach preserves gum and bone structure, reduces surgical visits, and helps avoid the inconvenience of temporary tooth loss or removable appliances.

When appropriate, patients may also receive a temporary crown or bridge shortly after placement—a process known as immediate loading—so they never go without a functional, natural-looking smile.

What to Expect

Step 1: Consultation & Planning

Your journey begins with a personalized consultation, which includes:

• A complete health and dental history review
• CBCT 3D imaging
• Discussion of sedation options
• Coordination with your general dentist or restorative specialist
• Digital surgical planning

Step 2: Implant Placement

On surgery day:

• You’ll be sedated for comfort and safety as desired
• The failing tooth is gently extracted
• The implant is placed immediately using dynamic navigation
• In many cases, a digital scan or temporary abutment is completed for crown fabrication

Some patients may receive a temporary crown within 72 hours, placed by their general dentist or in our office.

Step 3: Healing & Final Restoration

After the implant fuses with the jawbone (osseointegration), your dentist will place the final, custom-crafted crown. We provide detailed post-op instructions and remain available throughout your healing process.
